Coker Edges Lady IndiansNC Sports Information February 20, 2003 HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College earned its first victory of the season 5-4 over Newberry Thursday afternoon in women's collegiate tennis. The Cobras improve to 1-1 on the year and will next travel to Queens University of Charlotte this Saturday, February 22 at 1:00 PM. Freshman Neely Davis pulled the match out of the fire for Coker at number five singles. Davis battled back from losing the first set 0-6 to claim the second set 6-0 and the third 6-2. Senior Jessica Pendergraft also won 6-2, 6-2 at number four singles. Freshman Emily Jordan teamed with Pendergraft at number one doubles to earn an 8-1 victory. Newberry was to take on Converse College this Thursday, but the match is to be rescheduled. #GO INDIANS#
