Lady Indians swept by Augusta State in season opener

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry Lady Indians dropped their season opening tennis match against the Jaguars of Augusta State University today, 0-9.

The No. 1 doubles pairing of Autise Mortimer (Nassau, Bahamas) and Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario, Canada) had the best showing of the day for Newberry falling, 7-9, to Nathalia Rodrigues and Laura Ferreira.

The Lady Indians have a quick turnaround for their next match, hosting North Georgia College and State on Wednesday. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
