#35 Tusculum wins final home match againt Newberrycourtesy of Tusculum College Sports Information April 13, 2003 The Pioneers (13-3, 4-1 SAC) find themselves in a three-way tie for first place as Wingate University upset No. 30 Presbyterian College 5-4 on Sunday. Tusculum can clinch a share of its second straight league title on Tuesday when they battle cross-mountain rival Mars Hill College at 2 p.m. Newberry (2-9, 0-5 SAC) will close out the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to arch-rival Presbyterian for a 3 p.m. match. Tusculum's Lesley Murray (Monroe, Ga.) and Maria Nevarez (Guayaquil, Ecuador) blanked Nani Marquez (Caracas, Venezuela) and Jenny Wangerin (West Bend, Wis.) 8-0 at No. 1 doubles in pro sets. Murray and Nevarez and senior Courtney Loudenslager (Allegan, Mich.) also won in straight sets in singles play.
